The Culture novels

Post by shimond007 on Sat Apr 23, 2016 12:02 am

So I understand Rick got some inspiration of the Concord from the Culture novels series from Iain M. Banks, I'm currently reading the first book of the series and I can see some of the inspiration for the Concord.

I will read them all probably because I like the style and story so far, anybody knows more? Is the inspiration more defined from other book?

Many people say Ricks way to write the BtGoA-Fluff is the same like Novels from Iain M.Banks.

I had heard this too, though I put it together backwards: I had read one of the Culture novels, and had heard Antares took some inspiration from them. That being said, I read the first one in the series (Consider Phleabas) and while it was good, nothing really impressive. I have some of the others sitting in my Amazon cart now, though...

Damon.
